EARLY STAGES

Synopsis

This forthcoming book explores the hidden crisis of energy poverty and energy insecurity in America—how millions of households face impossible choices between heating/cooling their homes and putting food on the table.

Part memoir, part investigative nonfiction, and part policy roadmap, the book weaves together personal stories, rigorous research, and actionable solutions. It examines how energy insecurity intersects with race, class, and climate change.

Fiction Work

Beyond her non-fiction work, Dr. Nock also explores storytelling through fiction, creating narratives that illuminate complex social and environmental themes through character-driven stories. She believes that fiction can be a powerful vehicle for building empathy and understanding around technical challenges.
